Electric rocket picking up Steam

A duo in the vanguard: The Polestar 2 and the AEZ Steam

AEZ Steam Polestar 2

Scandinavian design

The all-electric Polestar 2 proves that a few lines go a long way in creating a highly distinct design. Both inside and outside, this car is all things Scandinavian, which is not a coincidence.

After all, the budding car brand is owned partly by Volvo and partly by Geely – the Swedish manufacturer’s parent company. With its clear-cut lines, our light alloy wheel AEZ STEAM is a perfect match for the typically Nordic design philosophy.

In safe hands

The Swedish genes also show through when it comes to safety: 5 stars at the Euro NCAP crash test equal exemplary short brake paths for the Polestar 2. In terms of temperament, the saloon reveals a more Mediterranean nature: The four-wheel drive top model allows for up to 408 hp (300 kW) and 660 Nm torque.

As a result, it boasts an acceleration worthy of a sportscar – from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. The front-driven basic version has 224 hp (165 kW), with the long-range model being slightly more powerful at 231 hp (170 kW). The latter has a maximum range of 542 km according to WLTP, thanks to a 78 kWh-strong battery.

First car with native Android

The drive isn’t the only innovative aspect here. Thus, the tastefully designed cockpit is dominated by a perpendicular 11.2-inch screen that packs quite a punch.

After all, the Polestar 2 is the first car that uses a native Android Automotive Operating System including over-the-air updates. “Hey Google, take me to…” – No matter where you end up going, thanks to plenty of driving fun and a standard high-performance audio system, every trip turns into a pleasure cruise.

Classic modern light alloy wheel design

The sporty-elegant and completely free-of-registration light alloy wheel AEZ STEAM perfectly matches the minimalist design of the Polestar 2. This design gem “Made in Germany” is available in 19 or 20 inches. While the rim’s standard version comes in a trending gunmetal finish and is front-polished, the all-grey AEZ STEAM GRAPHITE is an apt alternative.

Both have the same geometric construction featuring 15 edgy spokes. A balanced, proportionally stepped centre area catches the eye at the centre of the rim. The designers have refined the centre area by allowing for a five-fold decorative bore, thereby enhancing the wheel’s visual depth in every dimension.

It’s almost as if the wheel has been specially designed for the e-car because the combination of AEZ STEAM and Polestar 2 literally seems to be made from one piece.
