Cascais RC44 Match Race Cup:

Three Bullseyes!

The AEZ RC44 Sailing Team reaps in three victories at the Match Race Competition in Cascais. The adjudication begins tomorrow at the Fleet Race.

The Cascais RC44 Cup is one day old and a good decision richer. The Russian syndicate Synergy pressed for home with lovely sailing conditions in the direct duels with six wins and with that are in the lead of the Match Race Ranking of this year's Championship Tour.

The AEZ RC44 Sailing Team put on a good show again after the sensational Lanzarote round and goes up against Aqua (GBR), No Way Back (NED) and the US team Ironbound for a clear win. With this the AEZ Team, centered around helmsman Rene Mangold, strategist Markus Wieser (GER) and tactician Christian Binder, appears in the Match Race Tour ranking in eighth place.

The fleet racing events will be sailed starting tomorrow up through April 1, with up to three races scheduled daily.
Voices:

Christian Binder (Trim & Overall Tactician):
"Half of the team was weakened last week because of a virus. Nevertheless the preparation was very good. One could see that today in the maneuvers as well as in the starts, which were also quite good. We tested two sails and we are in rhythm and excited about the next few days."

Markus Wieser (Strategist):
"Within a few months we have managed to close the gap to middle field, which one could see again today and that shows that we work well. The roster is very strong, in principle we could beat them all, and alone this fact is extremely gratifying. We have secured our possibilities in the Fleet Race especially because this class of racing suits us better, which makes the anticipation extremely high."
