RC44 Adris Cup, Rovinj, September 28 – October 2, 2011

Good Kick-Off
Austria’s AEZ sailors had an excellent start in Rovinj and they know that anything is possible.

Postcard weather and a moderate breeze welcome the fifteen RC44 teams, including three crews from present AC-Syndicates, on the first day of the Adris Cup. The Adris Cup is held in Rovinj (CRO) and will be concluded on the upcoming Sunday.

After the first four rounds Oracle Racing and Artemis shared the lead. Russell Coutts, recently working for the AC firm, won two out of the four races. The AEZ RC44 Sailing Team brought a fourth and two ninth places home and is ranked temporarily in tenth place overall. Mangold, Binder and Co. missed sixth place by a mere five points.

Alfred Pelinka (Trainer):
“It was collectively seen as a positive but not a continuously brilliant day. We had an early start to cope with as well as a warning notice to acknowledge, and that cost us distance and place and naturally it’s aggravating. On the other hand, the crew had worked really well, the communication was excellent, the boat speed likewise. The standing is satisfactory, but more is possible. Today we have seen that we are exactly where we should be in terms of the motivation and anticipation for tomorrow.”
