Thomas Zajac & Thomas CzajkaMIXED FEELINGS

Austria’s Olympic sailors were among the top 5 six times on the first World Cup day.

In 55 days the try outs and the pre Olympics will take place before Weymouth. One year later the medal will be sailed for. The Skandia Go For Gold regatta is especially important for all 755 sailing boats out of 62 nations.

The start went very well for Thomas Zajac and Thomas Czajka. The start in the first two races went especially well for the two HSZ soldiers and they reached fourth and fifth position. They are at place 9 after the first three runs. Thomas Czajak: “One can only be content with such a good start. In the first two races we were successful and were constantly among the top 5 and could bring these results into the goal. At the third one we got away pretty well also, but then our sail came down and we lost many positions.”

Lara Vadlau and Eva Maria Schimak got to place 31 and gained more experience in the races.

The England World Cup will be continued tomorrow and this coming Saturday 11.June the Medal Race determinations will be finalized.
