Russell Coutts triumphs at the Traunsee
Oracle Racing wins the Fleet Races Series
The exceptional sailor and idea provider Russell Coutts triumphs at the only race of the day. The American team, whose boat owner is Larry Ellison, won a total victory under difficult and tricky conditions. Oracle Racing’s secret: ”One doesn't have to constantly risk in order to win, it is important to consistently sail well. We enjoy returning to the Traunsee every time again!”, says Russell Coutts, tactician.
The Austrian AEZ RC44 Sailing Team had a further solid achievement; they crossed the finish line as seventh boat in today’s race. Since there was only one race, the local team, by just three points, was not able to pass the Swedish America’s Cup syndicate Artemis Racing. “Today and yesterday we sailed well. The points for a top 10 placing we missed in the first day of the fleet race day”, explains Christian Binder, tactician of the local team. The AEZ RC44 Sailing Team wants to continue this improvement in the next event in Cagliari.
Now the full carbon yachts have to be loaded into the 40 foot containers and be brought to the next event in Italy, the RC44 Cagliari Cup. From June 29th to July 3rd the stars of the America’s Cup will be racing exciting duels in the match and fleet racing. Oracle Racing is in the lead after two events before Team Aqua (GBR) and Katusha (RUS).
The organization committee of PROFS Marketing with Christian Feichtinger and Peter Farbowski are looking forward to next year when the RC44 Championship Tour is hosted at the Austrian Traunsee for the fifth time in a row. There has never been a tour stop in the RC44 circus before that occurred so often in the program. The event planners of PROFS can be proud of this.
