RC44 Austria Cup sets a new course
Contract prolonged until 2012

The third fleet race day is today, Saturday. The RC44 fleet went pretty late onto the water, due to a standstill in winds in the morning. With time the clouds went away and two races were then sailed in the wonderful sunshine.

The Austrian AEZ RC44 Sailing Team had a bad start in the first race, but was able to continue their lucky streak from yesterday. Their performance was rewarded with a sixth in the first race and in the second with a seventh place. In the second race Team Artemis almost rammed the Austrian boat and got a penalty point for that. “From day to day and race to race we are getting better, but make mistakes easily still. Our goal was to catch up in points, which partially happened” says Christian Binder, tactician on the "Upper Austria" today.

Orcale Racing with Russell Coutts won the first race of the day. Team Ceeref with the owner and mate Igor Lah made the best results of the day. With a first and second place the team made a big step forward.

Since tonight it is official, the company PROFS with Christian Feichtinger and Peter Farbowski announced that the RC44 Champions Tour will take place at the Traunsee next year for the fifth time in a row. The full carbon yachts will set sail in Austria in June. Nothing but stars are being expected as in this year.
