On the upswing
AEZ RC44 Sailing Team is on a good course

This afternoon the winds increased on the Traunsee and three races were sailed. The Austrian AEZ RC44 Sailing Team was able to continue their lucky streak and was second of the three races and among the best 9.

„We managed the starts very well today, in the last race we failed, this is seen in the results“, comments Rene Mangold, mate and owner of the "Upper Austrian". Once again the start and the prestart phase prove to be crucial in sailing. The AEZ RC44 Sailing Team can be content with their course. Tomorrow the fleet races continue. Today the ÖSV president Peter Schröcksnadel was the special guest of the Upper Austrian, who took the wheel aside the races.

Oracle Racing defends their lead with the first race’s victory. Today an outstanding leadership was seen in Team Aqua with Chris Bake, with a victory, a fourth and second place and therewith attacks the American Team with Russell Coutts. Also Team Ceeref was able to reach two third places after having problems in the first race.

Being the only female mate on the field, Sarah Gundersen draws much attention to herself, “I am honored to fill in for the owner.“ She jumped in for the Russian Team Katusha as helmsman. Normally the Australian attends to the team’s event logistic.

No Way Back passed the finish line as first boat in the second race. Oracle Racing won the third race. Oracle Racing is leading before Team Aqua and No Way Back.
