First races in a breathtaking scenery
Grand Prix of Gmunden, Long Distance Race

The fourth year in a row, in which the RC44 Champions Tour is stopping over in Gmunden. Last year the RC44 Austria Cup attracted over 20.000 visitors to the shores of the Traunsee. With live tracking and on board streaming over three cameras of the regatta course and from the boat of the AEZ RC44 Sailing Team, the sailing event of the superlatives will put another cherry on the cake.

The time has come for the start oft he RC44 Austria Cup 2011! After a few practice race starts, the starting line was put a little bit more south. The water sport arena Traunsee was at its best for the arena sailing. The teams practiced the starting procedure over and over again, because the start is crucial for being successful. Thus practice race starts are ideal for the perfection of the race.

In the afternoon the long distance race trophy started, the Grand Prix of Gmunden. Under tough conditions with light winds, the Austrian team with its "Upper Austrian" was able to prevail at the start. The AEZ RC44 Sailing Team was in the lead shortly before the goal. Since the wind stopped completely for the last few meters, the entire field was mixed up.

No Way Back won before Team Ceeref and the new French Aleph Sailing Team. The Austrian AEZ RC44 Sailing Team was not able to stay in the lead all the way to the goal unfortunately.
