| The machine is running Austria´s RC 44 Asse left the Gardasee with an honorable invitiation and the knowledge of sailing with the world´s best sailors While there was little to expected in the duel boat against boat, the local nine were able to score a few points in the fleet race. The best results so far in the DHL trophy have been 4th place so far this year. In the ten races of the fleet race they were able to achieve 8 place. Individual results were divided into two on sixth place with the Spanish professional troop with Jose Maria Ponce and the New Zealand young star Adam Minoprio lead by the Chinese newcomer team Jelek. Minoprio is number three in the match race ranking. „ A few teams are better than expected in the race series. We ware slowly improving.” Says Christian Binder who shares the maneuver and tactics with Rene Msangold. The Austrian´s performance was shown by a collective training with the Dutch professional troop No Way Back. “Skipper Ray Davies invited us to the spar in Portoroz beginning of September”, says Binder and adds “it is a great honor, after all Ray is part of the successful America´s Cup´s syndicated in New Zealand.” How good Davies really is, we could see before Malcesine with the winning of the DHL trophy. Country man Dean Barker won the match race and the fleet race with the Swedish Artemkis Team. In the upcoming weeks the Traunsee will be the home base, Portoroz (29.09.-04.10.) and Dubai (25-29 November) are the final stations of this year´s tour, and once again Gmunden will be the station for 2010 Results RC 44 Malcesine Cup: Match Race: 1.
