| An intelligent power team The Tacana from AEZ and Rinspeeds E2 What is cosy, round, cute, small, has eyes to die for, a sexy rear and, on demand, either 60HP or 160HP? The answer: the latest creation from the Swiss vehicle tuner Rinspeed, which is based on the Abarth version of the Fiat 500. As is fitting for a real Italian with style, the “shoes”, i.e. the alloys, have to suit the rest of the golden-orange outfit perfectly. That is why the E2 uses the 7x17 inch AEZ Tacana. The five-spoke wheel with its exclusive anthracite paintwork looks sporty and elegant. Regardless of whether the car is parked, cruising through the city or is overtaking on the motorway, it always makes a dynamic impression. And it therefore simply belongs on Rinspeed’s E2. The renowned tuner has come up with an innovative solution for the vehicle, which the name of the sporty runabout hints at. It is called the E2 because it is equipped with two different energy levels: if you are travelling in the city, then the 60HP of the “commuting” level is fully sufficient. This allows the agile Rinspeed Abarth to get through traffic in an energy-saving way, with the consumption at around 4 litres. If you are on a main road or the motorway, and want to overtake in a fast and safe way and also gain extra driving enjoyment, the "highway" setting can help you. It mobilises a brisk 160 horsepower and turns the small flea into a true hornet. Even then the petrol consumption is only around seven litres for 100 kilometres. The energy management system of the E2 is controlled via a button in the cockpit. Where necessary the driver can use it to intervene in the electronic engine management. But the small Italian also looks good when the engine is switched off and the ignition key removed, as the curvy bodywork and the AEZ Tacana alloys also form one unit in energy-saving mode. The Rinspeed E2 will be on show from 5th to 15th March at the Geneva Motor Show. It will be at the Rinspeed stand, number 6151 in hall 6. The current wheel collection of AEZ will be presented at the ERNY FAHRZEUGTECHNIK stand, number 7053 in hall 7. |
